The term ‘Stolen Goods’ is a direct reference to goods pillaged from British imperialist conquests in the name of (misguided) patriotic supremacy, such as the Greek Parthenon sculptures at the British Museum, goods produced within British colonies (e.g. tea from India), etc.

The song itself is about Brexiteers’ hypocrisy in upholding this sense of misguided patriotic supremacy in their fear of losing ‘sovereignty’ during the Brexit referendum campaign, despite the fact that the life they are so desperately trying to cling to is built on the violation of other nations’ own sovereignty. In short, the comfortable life they are illegitimately preserving – and denying others – is built on hypocritical values.
